Preconception gender selection and family balancing use specialized sperm sorting to increase the likelihood of conceiving a baby of a chosen gender. This does not harm the sperm during the process. To schedule an appointment, please visit our facilities on the day of ovulation. We use a modified Sedimentation Method to separate sperm into male and female fractions. After sorting, our female, gynecologist/fertility specialist will perform intra-uterine insemination (IUI) with the chosen sperm fraction.
We provide expert care and personalized support throughout your fertility journey. Our dedicated team is here to assist you in achieving your family-building goals with the utmost professionalism and care.

Sperm retrieval is essential for men who face obstacles in sperm transport. These obstacles might include blocked, absent, or damaged ducts that normally carry sperm to the ejaculate. Fortunately, we have methods to access sperm from different parts of the reproductive tract. We can retrieve sperm from the vas deferens, epididymis, or directly from the testicle. Each source has its specific technique, but all are effective in obtaining viable sperm.
Once we successfully collect the sperm, we proceed with freezing it. Cryopreservation allows us to store the sperm for future use. This step is crucial for using the sperm in various assisted reproductive technologies (ART) procedures, such as in vitro fertilization (IVF). By freezing the sperm, we ensure it remains viable and ready for when it’s needed in the future.
In summary, our sperm retrieval procedures are designed to help men who face challenges with sperm transport. Through these methods, we can collect sperm from different areas of the reproductive tract, freeze it, and use it in ART procedures. This approach opens up new possibilities for men seeking to overcome infertility and achieve their goal of fatherhood.

Our semen freezing process follows the rigorous standards set by Prof. Zavos, known as the “Father of Andrology.” Prof. Zavos has extensive training in cryogenics from the University of Minnesota, which ensures our methods are top-notch.
We use dry nitrogen dewars for shipping. These specialized containers are designed to hold specimens at extremely low temperatures. They are charged with nitrogen coolant to keep the sperm frozen and viable for up to 18-20 days, as long as they remain upright and closed.
With over 25 years of experience, our staff has perfected this process. We take pride in our high success rates and reliable service. Whether you are shipping within the USA or internationally, you can trust us to handle your specimen with the utmost care and precision.

The first use of ROSI began in the 1990s. Initially, it led to several successful pregnancies, including a notable case in the UK: the birth of Susan Louise Oxburgh in 1996. Despite these early successes, ROSI faced significant hurdles. The UK’s Human Fertilization and Embryology Authority (HFEA) banned the technique due to concerns about potential genetic abnormalities in immature sperm and the method’s low success rates.
However, we didn’t let these challenges deter us. Our team has worked diligently to improve the ROSI technique. Today, we have refined our approach to make it more efficient and effective. We have addressed the concerns that led to the technique’s initial ban. As a result, our updated ROSI method now boasts higher success rates and produces healthier outcomes.
We are deeply committed to advancing fertility treatments and maintaining the highest standards of care. By enhancing ROSI, we aim to provide renewed hope to individuals struggling with infertility. Our goal is to help build families with greater confidence and improved chances of success. With our advanced ROSI technique, you can trust that we are offering the best possible solutions for achieving successful and healthy pregnancies.

Our research team has made significant strides in this field. We now grow stem cells in our lab and manipulate them to specialize into specific cell types. Once these specialized cells are introduced into an affected organ or tissue, they proliferate and help restore the deficient area. This process allows for the rehabilitation of damaged organs.
This technique involves implanting specialized stem cells directly into the testes. This approach is especially beneficial for males with azoospermia due to Sertoli-Only Syndrome. Testicular perfusion stimulates the testicular blood flow to begin producing sperm, which can then be used for procreation.
We are excited to announce a major milestone: the birth of the first “Stem Cell” baby at one of our global centers in Lahore, Pakistan. This achievement marks a significant advancement for our team and offers hope to many couples. The procedure shows great promise for those suffering from azoospermia caused by Sertoli-Only Syndrome.
With this success, we are now prepared to offer this cutting-edge service to other couples facing similar challenges. Our team is committed to advancing reproductive medicine and providing effective solutions for those in need.

Typically, azoospermia is identified when a couple struggles to conceive and seeks the expertise of a male fertility specialist. The process begins with a semen analysis to assess the presence and quantity of viable sperm in the patient’s ejaculate. When a semen analysis reveals virtually no sperm, further evaluation may be required. Additional testing helps to determine the underlying cause of the condition and guides appropriate treatment options.
To ensure accurate diagnosis and effective treatment, specialized fertility laboratories, such as The Andrology Institute of America, play a crucial role. Our facility is equipped with advanced technology and expertise to properly diagnose azoospermia. We perform comprehensive semen analyses and conduct further investigations if necessary, providing detailed insights into the condition.
Accurate diagnosis is vital as it informs the treatment strategy. At The Andrology Institute of America, we offer a range of treatment options tailored to individual needs. These include advanced therapies such as stem cell treatments, which may be recommended based on the specific diagnosis. Our goal is to provide targeted solutions that address the root cause of azoospermia and enhance fertility outcomes.
Overall, if you or your partner are facing challenges with conception, a thorough evaluation at a specialized facility like ours is essential. We are dedicated to diagnosing and treating azoospermia with the highest level of expertise and care, helping you move forward in your journey towards parenthood.

Retrograde ejaculation occurs when semen enters the bladder instead of exiting through the urethra during ejaculation. This condition can result from various causes, including previous prostate or urethra surgeries, diabetes, certain medications (such as those for hypertension and mood-altering drugs), and is relatively rare. Retrograde ejaculation can be partial or complete. While the presence of semen in the bladder is generally harmless, it mixes with urine and exits the body during normal urination.
Patients with diabetes and those who have undergone genitourinary tract surgery are at a higher risk for developing retrograde ejaculation. Although the condition is not typically dangerous, it can pose challenges for couples trying to conceive.
Professor Zavos’s technique addresses this issue by recovering viable sperm without the need for invasive procedures. This advancement offers hope for many men who struggle with retrograde ejaculation and wish to become fathers. With our expertise, we provide effective treatment options tailored to individual needs. If you are facing challenges related to retrograde ejaculation, we are here to help you navigate this condition and support your journey towards parenthood.

In the future, when you are ready to attempt pregnancy, these frozen eggs can be thawed and combined with sperm through in vitro fertilization (IVF) to create embryos. These embryos are then prepared for transfer into the uterus during a subsequent embryo transfer cycle, aiming to achieve pregnancy.
Embryo freezing, while similar in principle, involves a slightly different process. Instead of freezing individual eggs, embryos are created through IVF and then frozen for later use. After the eggs have been fertilized with sperm in the laboratory, the resulting embryos are preserved through cryopreservation. These frozen embryos can be stored and later thawed when you decide to pursue pregnancy. The thawed embryos are then transferred into the uterus in a procedure designed to facilitate implantation and achieve a successful pregnancy.
Both egg and embryo freezing offer valuable options for preserving fertility and planning family expansion at a more convenient time. These procedures are commonly performed at our affiliated centers, ensuring that you receive expert care and support throughout the process.

AIA received the most humbling message from a couple that visited Kentucky USA Clinic from out of state. We are honored to share from our other website. (without photo) Thank you, SaintJimmyFTW 01.2025 From AIA and the Zavos Team.
So I've been holding off on this review for a bit to make sure of our situation. There's no question now so I'll share this today in hopes that it may help someone else in a similar position. A TL;DR will be located at the bottom if details aren't your cup of tea:) It all started when we found out we were pregnant with baby boy number 5. We were happy to welcome him into our lives but I'd be lying if I didn't express some disappointment due to having 5 sons and no daughter. My wife and I had always been on the same page, thinking that our family wasn't complete without being able to have a daughter. So we started doing some research... We read about different treatments and odds based on which procedure we went with. The best odds would have costs us over 20k and it still wasn't 100%. We weighed our options but it would have required a loan or a second mortgage for us to afford. She called dozens of doctors and we were having very little luck. Then we found Dr. Zavos. He was understanding and kind and helped us understand our situation better and the odds that we faced. My situation could be different than yours so ill leave the numbers out of it but the odds were good, and the cost was better. We were able to afford the treatment without breaking the bank or taking out additional loans. So we took a trip to Kentucky. We followed his rules and abode by his direction to the letter. We traveled down and made a weekend getaway out of it. Dr. Zavos' office was pleasant and relaxing. He spoke with us regarding the process and answered all of our questions. I provided a sample and returned to the office. He did what he does to sift the swimmers and even showed us a sample on a big screen microscope, which was unnecessary and very cool. We took the sample, per his orders to the partner doing the insemination procedure and we were in and out in less than an hour. We enjoyed the rest of our time there and headed home. About a week or 2 later, she started testing. We had some negatives at first but then one day we saw the + sign. She, being thorough, and certainly not neurotic, took a few dozen more just to be sure. All positive and we were happy but we knew there was still a gender issue that we wouldn't get answers on for some time. Ultrasounds were all good and the baby appeared to be perfectly healthy. After about 2.5 months of anticipation, we tested for gender. 2 over the counter blood tests later and the first came back boy. The second, 2 days later, showed girl. There was no way to know for sure so we waited even longer. The first gender Ultrasound came back girl but our 2 year old was originally mis read as a girl and we didn't find out he was a boy until months later. So we were skeptical. Fast forward two months and about 5 Ultrasound checks and she's still a little girl. We were, and are, elated to finally welcome a daughter into this world in about 1.5 months. Our family finally feels complete, which is a feeling we had lost hope for for the longest time. TL;DR I can't thank Dr. Zavos enough for his time and his work. He has truly helped in answering our prayers and helping us finally complete our family. He has been a blessing in our lives that I owe a debt of gratitude to. Please understand that nothing is certain and my experience could differ from yours but we got exactly what we wanted, for much less than we expected, in just a few quick visits between 2 offices. Please consider this Doctor if you find it something that you are seeking. It has been life changing for us. Thank you Dr. Zavos and your team for helping us complete out family. I've been to most of the fertility clinics in Lex. so I can honestly say that this one was always the best experience cause they're always so sweet and thoughtful. And miss Debra makes you feel more comfortable and she's so funny. Everyone there is so nice, like they just really know how to take care of you. It's def worth checking out at least.

Absolutely wonderful to experience! Dr Zavos and Debra are so kind and welcoming. The office looks like a little house and inside is very warm and inviting. You get to see the swimmers on the big screen and it is so amazing to see. I highly recommend him! Praying we have our little baby girl as I am pregnant first try. Thank you Dr. you are the best! Take care and God Bless!
